Sometimes in life we are lucky enough to do what we love as a career but might not necessarily find it personally rewarding in a “giving back” sense. Volunteering opportunities are everywhere we turn and although personal recognition is not the motivation we should necessarily ascribe to, you can find causes near and dear to your heart that can also help make you a better agent.
Raising awareness for a certain cause is as valuable as quietly donating your time to those in need. Hopefully you’re blessed with enough time to do both but if you are in the position of wanting to find something that aligns with your business: choose a cause that you are passionate about! There’s very little point in choosing Habitat for Humanity simply because it has to do with “homes” but you can’t stand lifting a hammer! If it’s animals your heart melts for, host an adoption fair and invite all your social media community to your office. Perhaps you’re passionate about “fighting” a particular illness, start a team with a clever name associated with your business and let the fundraising begin!
The important thing to remember is to have fun with it and that you are doing it for a greater cause. It’s a beautiful thing when passion and a career can collide!
